As computer technology grows increasingly complex, so does computer crime. In this book, Clifford leads a team of nationally known experts in cybercrime (gathered from the diverse fields of academia, private and governmental practice) to unfold the legal mysteries of computer crime. The book explores the variety of crimes that involve computer technology, and provides essential details on procedural and tactical issues associated with the prosecution and defense of a cybercrime. Cybercrime includes the contributions of six authors chosen for their proficiency and experience in cybercrime cases. Professor Susan Brenner is a nationally recognized expert in computer-based criminal conduct. Prosecuting attorney Ivan Orton has investigated and prosecuted numerous cybercrimes for the Seattle, Washington prosecutor’s office. Likewise, defense attorney Joseph Savage has defended many individuals accused of cybercrimes. Before joining the Southern New England School of Law faculty in 2004,  Miriam Miquelon-Weismann practiced law for 26 years both as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorneys’ Office and as a partner in the national law firm of Keck, Mahin & Cate.  Dianna Lamb is a litigator at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, LLP. Finally, attorney Jessica Herrera has been involved in the international attempts to address cybercrimes as a member of the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the U.S. Department of Justice. The combined expertise of these authors will give those involved with cybercrimes — whether as attorneys, police officers, or policy makers — the knowledge they will need to be effective.
