In this book, Nygren discusses how torts subject matter is different from any other. A chapter on "Intentional Torts" covers battery, assault, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of severe emotional distress, and defamation. A long chapter is devoted to negligence; because professors may devote as much as half a course to this subject, the author strives to point out many problem areas in the subject. The book covers strict liability with an emphasis on products liability. Also included is a multi-issue fact-pattern chapter with suggestions about how to practice handling the organizational problems of torts exams, and a short chapter which provides hints on how to approach final exams.
